Phillip Don Blagg

Longtime Edmond, Okla. resident, Phillip Don Blagg, 72, of Purcell, Okla., passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2019. Phillip was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Kinta, Okla., the youngest of three children born to Rayford Crane Blagg and Lillian Marie (Shipley) Blagg. He was raised near Edmond and attended Deer Creek Schools, graduating with the Class of 1965.
Phillip served as a member of the Oklahoma National Guard for a little more than six years. On Oct. 4, 1970, he married his best friend and life partner, Sherry Minyen. He was a master carpenter and woodworking artist and could do anything with wood. He custom built cabinets and picture frames and at one time owned his own photography business.
Phillip loved spending time outdoors, and so much so, he built a cabin at Lake Eufaula. He looked forward to family get togethers; fishing, boating and cook outs. He was a classic car enthusiast and a history buff, who shared a particular interest in Old West Artifacts. He moved to Purcell, Okla., in 2018 to be closer to family. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a true friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Lillian Blagg, and his brother, Bill Blagg.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Sherry of the home; daughter, Holly Robinson and husband, Dan of Little Elm, Texas; sons, Phillip Don Blagg Jr. of Edmond, Okla., and Casey Blagg and wife, Brandi Christian of Purcell, Okla.; sister, Betty Weiss of Edmond, Okla.; sister-in-law, Frankie Blagg of Eufaula, Okla.; brother-in-law, Mark Minyen of Norman, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Britainy Allen, Cassidy Allen, James Robinson, Anna Robinson, Jared Blagg, Layton Blagg, and Langley Blagg; and a host of other family and friends.
