Events

Patricia Ann Griffin, was born Aug. 30, 1941, the daughter of James Thomas Bell and Mary Elizabeth Teter Bell. Pat grew up in Edmond, Okla., and graduated from Edmond High School in 1959. Her childhood church was First United Methodist Church of Edmond. She married Warren "Jiggs" Griffin in 1961 and had their only child, Scott, in 1962. Pat and Jiggs moved to Midwest City, Okla., the summer of 1968. Pat was an excellent homemaker and dedicated mother. During Scott's elementary years she volunteered in the library of Midwest City Public Schools. She later became employed as the assistant librarian during Scott's junior and high school years. In addition, Pat was involved with the Junior Service League of MWC. She and Jiggs moved back to Edmond, Okla., in 1981.
Pat and her husband enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed trading dishes with her neighbors! She was an avid sports fan, both football and basketball. Her favorite teams were OU and the Thunder. Pat had many dear friends whom she cherished. Wednesday night was her 'Bridge Night' with friends and she had most recently been involved in planning her 60th Edmond HS Reunion. Her home was her pride and joy and always immaculate. Pat kept busy working in the yard, planting flowers and feeding the birds. One of her favorite places to be was on the back porch with a good book and of course a glass of wine in hand.
Pat cherished her grandchildren, Britni and Chandler, and was a wonderful grandma. She was a big part of their lives growing up, attending many ball games and cheer events. Pat had a very close relationship with her three brothers, Mike, Jim and Bob, and their families and always looked forward to their times together. She had a strong faith, loved life and loved her family.
Pat is survived by her son, Scott Griffin (Michelle); grandchildren, Britni Hosick (Bryan) and Chandler Griffin; her brothers Robert Bell, Culpepper, Va., and Michael Bell (Linda), Clarkston, Wash.; many special nieces and nephews; and her little dog, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Bell, El Dorado, Kan., and husband, Warren Griffin.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019, at Baggerley Funeral Home, Edmond, with a private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
