James Larry Rachal
James "Larry" Rachal passed and went to Heaven Sept. 29, 2019. He was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Flora, La., graduated from Cypress High School in 1948, attended Alexandria Business College for two years, then entered the United States Army in 1951, and served two years in Japan during the Korean War.
In 1954 Larry married the love of his life, Lucille Stokes Rachal, then graduated from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, La., in 1959, with a degree in Business. Larry moved his family to Norman, Okla., to work at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 30 years of federal service as a computer programmer/analyst. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Norman, and served as a RA leader and Sunday School Teacher.
Larry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, gardening, attending children and grandchildren sporting events and activities and helping others.
Larry was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Kimberly Rachal Tripp and survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Stokes Rachal; brother, Ezra (June) Rachal; son, James Larry Rachal Jr.; daughter, Dejuana Rachal Howie; and their spouses, Denise Rachal and Vince Howie; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be missed by all.
His family and friends will celebrate his life at Silver Elms Estates on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019.
