Gladys Louise Kloefkorn

Gladys Louise Kloefkorn, born March 25, 1930, in Akron, Colo., went to be with her Lord on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019.
Gladys grew up and attended high school in Akron, Colo., where she met Vernon upon his return from serving the Army in the South Pacific; they married Oct. 16, 1949. His career moved them to Denver, Colo.; Sydney, Neb.; Fort Morgan, Colo.; Casper and Worland, Wyo.; and Oklahoma City, Okla.; lastly settling in Edmond, Okla.; where she lived until her passing. While in Edmond, she opened an antique and gift shop, the Open Cupboard, and later expanded into estate sales.
Gladys loved gathering with her extended family for holidays, watching Oklahoma State Cowboys sports, playing cards with friends, and traveling the world with her husband, Vernon.
Gladys was preceded in death by the love of her life, Vernon Ray Kloefkorn; her parents, Guy and Emma Manhalter; sisters, Helen and Ruth; and brother, Don.
Gladys, or Kate as she liked to be called, was a loving and devoted mother who is survived by her three children: daughter, LuAnn and husband, George Moore, son, Mark and wife, Karen, and son, Wade and wife, Jules; seven grandchildren: Matt Moore and wife, Katie, Brooke McMiller, Chad and wife, Delia, Grant and wife, Kym, Anne and fiancée, Corey Martin, Weston, and Alex and her husband, Jared Halek; nine great-grandchildren: Carter and Campbell Moore, Chesney and Macey McMiller, Alan Kloefkorn, Emerson Kloefkorn and twin girls expected within the month, and Paisley Martin; and brother, Wayne Manhalter.
The family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Beverly Helms, the staff at The Veraden, and countless nurses from Visiting Angels for the compassionate care and love given to Gladys in the final months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the Kloefkorn family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you at this time. My Mom and Dad are still with me and doing quite well. I know they will go to a better place, but it will be hard for me to let them go when the time comes.

Love, Amanda
