William Orville Palmer, 85, died from a sudden onset of illness while surrounded by his wife Martha Seale Palmer, children and grandchildren. He was born on December 6, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo. His parents were Earl and Alverda Palmer and Harry and Marian Blair. He was the youngest of three children and is survived by his sisters Harriet Phipps and Patty Cox Hampton Roloff. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Business degree, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served 1952-1955 as an accountant in Victoria, Texas. Returning to his childhood hometown, Edmond, Okla., he joined the First National Bank of Edmond and embarked on a 30 year career serving as the president and owner of the bank. He was a committed member of the First Presby-terian Church of Edmond serving in a variety of capacities. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He gladly served as a volunteer at Edmond Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Seale Palmer and children, Eddie and Leigh Palmer Thompson and husband, Chris and Patsy Palmer, Steve and Lesie Palmer, and Emily Blaess and late husband John along with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice. Services to celebrate his life were 11 a.m., Monday, February 22, at the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond.
