Sandra Leigh Easton, 71, passed away June 29, 2017. Leigh was born to Coy and Mary Laverne Loman of Oklahoma City, Okla. on June 7, 1946. As an only child, she brought joy to her parents and exceeded every expectation they had. She was the apple of her daddy's eye and her mother's closest friend and confidant.
Leigh would tell you that her greatest accomplishment in life was raising two sons to be loving and devoted husbands and fathers. She poured herself into her boys. She taught them about love, hard work and loyalty. While raising the boys on her own and working full time as a teacher for Moore Public Schools, she returned to college to obtain two masters degrees and often worked two or three extra jobs to make ends meet.
Leigh had a passion for cooking. Her home was always full of delicious baked goodies and casseroles. Her generous nature was an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved to cook for neighbors, family and friends. Even during her battle with cancer, she would bake treats for the nurses and staff who administered chemo treatments.
In addition to her passion for cooking, she loved gardening and gift giving. One look at her yard would make any master gardener stop in awe. As her yard overflowed with plants and flowers, at Christmas and other celebrations her home would overflow with gifts, decorations and amazing food. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed.
She is survived by her mother Laverne Loman; son Chris Easton and wife Debbie; son Brett Easton and wife Rebecca and four grandchildren Brandi, K.C., Jessica and Adam. Her family would like to acknowledge and thank her companion, Richard Patterson, for his complete devotion to her.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Crossings Community Church in Edmond.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Fighters at Tenaciously Teal. www.tteal.org, or a charity of your choice.
