Patricia Sue Ackison Davis, 76, went to be with her Savior on Monday, August 21, 2017. She and her husband of 58 years, Oscar Davis, were longtime residents of Edmond, Okla. and more recently Lafayette, La.
Pat was born September 18, 1940 in Crown City, W.Va., the third of five children to Homer and Ruby Ackison. Her sister Norma Jean Brown of Kistler, West Virginia and her brother Larry Ronald Ackison of Virginia Beach survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Willa Dean Zornes and her brother Remus Ackison.
Her husband and two children, Michele Reading of Edmond and Timothy Oscar Davis of Lafayette, and their spouses, Jeff Reading and James Morvant survive Pat. Her three grandchildren, Whitney Dickinson and spouse David of Jenks, Okla., Brett Jennings and spouse Tyler of Houston, Texas and Andrew Davis and spouse Katie of Edmond will miss their Gramsie tremendously. She and Oscar are also proud great-grandparents to Lorelai, Holden, Graham Dickinson, Hunter and Bodi Jennings, and Gabriel Davis.
A licensed professional nurse for over 20 years, Pat enjoyed golf, music of all kinds and sewing exquisite Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She was a lifelong Yankees fan and enjoyed traveling to see them play.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend, Patty Sue will be missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for their compassionate care during her stay.
She fought valiantly against Parkinson's and her hope was that someday there would be a cure. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation of Oklahoma at parkinsonoklahoma.com.
