Morey Phillip Myers, 38, of Edmond, Okla., died April 7, 2017, after an aggressive fight with cancer. He was born November, 19, 1978, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of Glenn Myers and Susan Jo Myers (Buck).
He was born and raised in Edmond, and graduated Edmond North High School in 1997. He was enjoying living in Arvada, Colo., with his amazing wife, Sarah McElroy of Stillwater, Okla., and his three awesome dogs.
Morey was a lover of nature, history and travel. His infectious smile and contagious laugh will be missed by many. He enjoyed working on his family's ranch in Avard, Okla. He loved getting his hands dirty in the soil, learning the history of the land, and keeping all of his deer and fish fed. He loved to play golf and ski with his buddies, who he also considered a part of his family. Sarah and Morey enjoyed many incredible trips over the years, including several stops in Western Europe, Costa Rica, Machu Picchu in Peru, as well as countless ski trips, lake trips, camping trips and road trips while moving all over the country. Morey had an incredible spirit throughout his entire life, even when his battle with cancer was extremely hard, he never lost his positive attitude.
Morey leaves behind his wife of nine years, Sarah, his parents, Glenn and Susan Jo, his sister, Mindy Lamprich and her husband Brad, of OKC, and Morey's two nieces, Carter and Adler - they will certainly miss their "Huncle Morey." He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Morey's memorial service will be noon Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church, 400 S. Grand Ave. Cherokee, OK, 73728.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love a donation made to your local animal shelter, rescue, or sanctuary.
