Mary Margaret "Peggy" Davis, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 23, 2017 in Edmond, Okla. She was born April 2, 1928 in El Paso, Texas to parents James and Pearl Linson.
After being raised in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico she married early (age 16) to Oscar Davis on August 27, 1944 in Cochise County, Ariz. and soon after that, they moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where Peggy devoted her life to raising and caring for her family.
Peggy called Granada Hills, Calif. her home for 38 years. It was here that she was employed by Sears for many years and retired from the company and also where she and Oscar raised their two children, Carol and Eric.
Her husband Oscar passed away in 1995. In 2003 health reasons brought her to Edmond to be close to her daughter and grandchildren and she has resided at Bradford Village retirement community for 14 years.
Peggy was a giver and had a generous heart for all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church in Edmond and had an undying devotion for the Lord. With both her father and her husband being veterans she possessed a love of this country and its veterans and gave generously to their cause.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Bob) Somers of Edmond and her son Eric (Toni) Davis of Los Angeles, and grandchildren Alex Somers of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Gail Somers of Riviera Beach, Fla. She is also survived by her brothers James "Bud" Linson of Las Vegas, N.M. and Walter Linson of Cedar, Minn. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Eula "Boots" Althoff (2011) of New Mexico.
A family memorial service and burial will be in New Mexico at a later date still to be determined.
Her family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Bradford Village retirement community in Edmond and the Golden Age nursing facility in Guthrie, Okla. specifically for their attentiveness and loving care in preparation for her journey home.
