Letha's Story

Letha Euellene Kiespert, 83, of Edmond, Okla. passed away on January 19, 2017. She was born August 8, 1933 in Pershing, Okla. to Euell and Letha Barnes. She married Bill Kiespert on January 16, 1953 in Guthrie, Okla.
Bill and Euellene worked together at the Co-operative Publishing Company in Guthrie. She then worked in the banking industry. Euellene recently received an award for over 50 years of dedication to the banking industry. She worked at Citizens Bank of Edmond until her passing. In the past few years she represented Citizens Bank as the "The Voice of Edmond" with her personal touch as receptionist and first point of contact for the bank. She was also recognized for her exceptional customer service on News 4's "Is This a Great State or What" in 2014.
Euellene attended Coyle High School where she was voted Carnival Queen and graduated with honors as valedictorian of her class. And she was a graduate of Draughon Business College.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with family and annually organized the Burd Family Reunion. She enjoyed playing the piano and entertaining family and friends with her talent. Euellene also had a passion for Elvis Presley and was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia.
Euellene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Barbara Kiespert of Edmond, daughter-in-law, Sarah Kiespert of Edmond, grandsons, Jason Kiespert and wife Jera and Brian Kiespert and wife Christy, and great granddaughter, Anna Kiespert and great grandson, William Kiespert. Also, survived by sister Sue Kinney and many nieces and nephews.
Euellene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, her son, Billy Kiespert, Grandson Jeffrey Kiespert, brother Marion Barnes and wife Eleanor, and brother-in-law John Kinney.
