Ida Fae (Perkins) Halbrook was born to John and Ida (Wiley) Perkins on March 14, 1931 in Martins Mill, Texas. She went to her Heavenly home on Monday, September 19, 2016. She attended school in Martins Mill and was a member of the band and a majorette. She married James Harlon Halbrook on January 15, 1950.
Fae was a homemaker but also held odd jobs throughout the years such as working for Hunt's Jewelers. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and teaching Sunday school. Her passion for oil painting included teaching for Friendship International and classes at Waterloo Road Baptist Church. Fae also enjoyed drinking iced tea and talking with her neighbor, Lorene. Fae and her late husband were long-time members of the Waterloo Road Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving and worshiping.
Fae is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, and all of her siblings but one, Roy Dwain Perkins.
She is survived by her children, Jessie Elaine Vaughan (Dean), Michael Harlon Halbrook (Sharon), and Charlotte Ann Caughron (Cliff); eight grandchildren, Keri Vaughan, Scot Vaughan (Diane), Chris Vaughan (Shayna), Stacie Alvey (Brian), Michael Halbrook (Megan), Elizabeth Curry (Chris), Jonathan Barrow (Jessica), and Lena Barrow; 11 great-grandchildren, Mary and Maddox Vaughan, Kelton, Ashlyn, and Kacelyn Alvey, Amelia and Ben Halbrook, Hannah and Jadon Curry, and Addy and Austin Barrow; and many other family members and friends. She will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Ash Street Place assisted living facility in Guthrie. Memorial donations can be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions donated through Waterloo Road Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon til 8 p.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Waterloo Road Baptist Church in Edmond with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
