Our most precious gift from God, Gabe Stewart, was taken from our loving family to be in the heavenlies and watch down upon us as we complete this earth walk. Gabe was born on December 10, 1991 and placed into our arms on December 31, a few weeks later. What a celebration there was when we brought him home as we had prayed with so many of our church family for so many years to be blessed with a child. And then, we get this beautiful baby that fit into our lives to perfection.
What an adventure life was with him. We could go nowhere that people didn't comment on him, chase his Mom down just to see him. He was engaging and wanted a chance to meet everyone because he felt they should all love him. And love him they did - he was a bright shining star wherever he was and what pleasure we took watching him reel people in! When we enrolled him into pre-school, that was a whole new group that was captivated. He became friends with so many and the teachers all were enamored by this small wonder. He grew into just a larger version of himself as he went to elementary school and had more friends and teachers fall under his spell! He was always accepting of everyone and always went out of his way to accept the new kid and make sure everyone was treated fairly and was always a mediator when there were spats between classmates.
He loved his Mommy like no other son ever loved before and they had adventures each day. He was so proud of his Daddy and they had such adventures. But the adventures were the greatest when it was the three of us. He loved to travel and loved the ocean and tropical beaches and loved to cook from an early age. He went on to high school and I'm not sure the teachers were quite as enamored as earlier in life, but he still managed to wrap a few around his little finger. He was the best friend imaginable and has friendships which began in pre-school and lasted to the end. He went on to college and a whole new group were introduced to him, and there were so many who hopped on board the Gabe train of friendship and high adventure. He loved with passion, and whatever he believed in, he believed 1,000%. Get out of the way if you didn't want to be run down, because Gabe was going to accomplish what he wanted, how he wanted and when he wanted. His smile and infectious laugh could brighten a room and change the entire atmosphere.
Oh, how he loved music. He loved most genres and if an event of any kind was being planned, he could whip up an appropriate playlist within 15 minutes. You could hear him coming when he arrived in his car, windows down, music blaring, and woe to you if you wanted to say something when his favorite song-of-the-moment was playing!
He was loved by so many and the world is a little less bright with him gone. What a pleasure it was to be called Mom and Dad by him and how long the days will be without hearing those names called out. Gabe loved his animals, Murphys #1, #2 and #3, he kind of liked the cats, and his life was totally changed when he got his own Winston. He loved football (Vikings), video games and most of all STAR WARS! Life will never be the same without our little Gabey, but we do know that heaven is a much brighter place with him there.
