Yvonne Bernell “Nell” DeMasters, 87, was born to Laura Alice Crocker and Houston Franklin Crocker in Coahoma, Texas. She married Louis A. “Bud” DeMasters and together they had two sons, Rodney and Kenneth DeMasters. She and her husband lived in many towns in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alaska, and Oklahoma due to his profession, and she was a member of the Baptist church throughout their travels. After her sons graduated, she obtained her LPN degree. Yvonne always enjoyed helping others. Yvonne moved close to her son Kenneth to live in the Tealridge Retirement Center in Edmond, Okla., after the passing of her husband. At Tealridge, she met many wonderful friends, and remained active as a representative for the residents, as well as participating in many of the special events planned in the center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Houston Crocker; husband, Louis Alan DeMasters; son, Rodney A. DeMasters; brother, Basil Crocker; and sister, Lelia Belle Woodson. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Dale DeMasters and wife Rhayma; grandchildren, Carmi Scheller, Charnell James, Randy DeMasters, Donald Bud DeMasters, and Alan Ross Tripp, and great-grandchildren, Alex and Olivia DeMasters, Tess and Andrew Scheller, Lleyton and Hudson DeMasters, and Lily James. A memorial will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 13, at Tealridge Retirement Center, 2100 NE 140th Street, Edmond, OK 73013. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
