Wanda Faye (Gindlesberger) Bewley went to her eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018. She was born July 30, 1931 in Cherokee, Okla. to Marvin and Margie Gindlesberger.
Wanda was the deputy county clerk in Alfalfa County before marrying the love of her life, Kenneth Eugene Bewley, on Feb. 12, 1954. The Bewleys lived in Dallas, Texas and New Orleans, La. before settling in Edmond, Okla. in 1970. They moved to Katy, Texas in 2015. In Edmond, they were active members of Southern Hills Christian Church for over 45 years. Wanda served as treasurer, cook, and board member for Edmond Mobile Meals for more than 20 years. Ken and Wanda loved to golf and were members of Twin Hills Golf and Country Club for 25 years. When she wasn't golfing, she loved watching golf and other sporting events (especially O.U. sports). She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, sister Glenda Newlin and husband, Ed, and sister Rosie White and her husband, Larry.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Ken; her sister, Marva Anderson of Sebring, Fla.; son Scott Bewley of Oklahoma City, Okla. and his children Jessica and Ryan and his wife Melissa, and Ryan's children Olivia and Christopher Ryan; and daughter Stacy Grubb and her husband, Allen, of Katy, Texas and their children Kelsey, Conner, Kyle, and Courtney. Wanda has numerous other family and friends who will miss her bright blue eyes and sweet smile. She loved life and will be remembered for her strong faith in God, quick wit, and loving personality.
To celebrate her life, there will be a service at Southern Hills Christian Church on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2 p.m.
