Ruth Cekinovich, 91, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Fallston, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Grace Living Center where she resided for the last 3 ½ years. Born September 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Ignatius and Antonia (Zuzak) Hoodnick, she was the last surviving child of 17 children.
She was a member of St. John's Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond.
Ruth is survived by two sons and a daughter, Daniel Cekinovich, Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.; Mike Cekinovich, Dallas, Texas, and Diane Cantu, Edmond. In addition to her three children, she has seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth volunteered at the Samaritan House and was an active participant at the Senior Center at Mitch Park and Time Out at St. John's before her move to Grace Living Center. She touched many lives with her positive and outgoing personality.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, in the chapel at St. John's. Her son Michael will take her ashes to New Brighton, PA, to be buried at the gravesite with her mother and father.
The family would like to thank the staff and caretakers at Grace Living Center for their kindness, care, and support given to Ruth during her years there.
