Patricia's Story

Text size

Born in Dallas, Texas, October 28, 1934, to Lucy and Dr. Horace Wood, Patricia J. Gilchrist left this life on October 11, 2016 with the many joys resulting from faith and obedience to her Lord, leaving behind the struggles in this world. By the kindness of God she left quietly and comfortably in her sleep, only to awake to that glorious, eternal day!
She loved nothing better in this life than to share the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Now she sees Him face to face, as he is, the One whose story she has told over and over again! (I Corinthians 13:12).
As she left, Pat had neither memory of the pain this life can hold nor memory of the past. It was as if God, in His goodness, had wiped the slate clean, preparing her for what He has planned for her since the foundation of the world.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Weldon, her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Lucy and Trevor Mabery, M.D., and her husband, Ronald W. Gilchrist, M.D. Standing in the gap she leaves behind to share the gospel her son, Mark Gilchrist, M.D., and his wife Missy; her son, Jack Gilchrist and his wife Kristi; her daughter, Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Dr. Tim Taylor; Pat's first husband, Jack Montgomery, M.D.; and eleven grandchildren: Sarah Craycraft and husband Adam, Claire Gilchrist, Michael Gilchrist, Evan Gilchrist and wife Klae, Grace Gilchrist, Samuel Gilchrist, Bart Taylor, Cameron Taylor, Holly Willard, Jake Willard and Jackson Willard. Pat also leaves behind her good friend, Jack Atkinson.
To a real Proverbs 31 woman, Mom, we say well done! WELL DONE! Enter into your rest, my dear one.
