Norma's Story

Norma Louise (Hudson) Pugh was born September 9, 1936 in Carney, Okla. to William Chester and Tessie (Nettles) Hudson. She passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Tuscany Village Nursing Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. at the age of 81.
Norma attended Tyron Public Schools. She quit school in the 8th grade to help care for her three younger siblings and earned her GED in 1989. Norma worked as a supervisor at the Pauline E. Meyers Group Home for 20 years. She loved playing card games, cooking for others, and most of all loved her family. She was a devout Christian woman and a long time member of Baptist Temple. One of Norma's favorite ministries that she helped start with Pat Murdock and John Long at Baptist Temple was "Lunch Bunch" in 1970 and continued until 1985 having a huge impact on the lives of many high school students at NWC.
She was preceded in death her parents, Chester and Tessie Hudson; siblings, Jewel Hudson, Lois Anderson, Ray and J.R. Hudson; son-in-law, Gary Willey; and two brothers-in-law, Bud Best and Johnny Whitlow.
Norma is survived by her four children, Jack Pugh and his wife Brenda, and Louis Pugh and his wife Dana all of Oklahoma City, Jeanine Reno and her husband Fred of Dallas, Texas, and Betty Willey of Bethany, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Aimee Jenks and her husband Kelly, Lindsay Willey, and Bradley Willey all of Bethany, Nikki Pugh of Norman, Okla., Jameson Reno and his wife Sarah Jones of Denton, Texas, Sarah Reno of Dallas, Texas, and Tyler Pugh of Oklahoma City; five great-grandchildren, Alexis and Matthew Yahola, Lincoln and Emersyn Jenks, and Aiden Reno; three siblings, Shirley Best and Donnell Whitlow both of Edmond, Okla. and Glen Hudson and his wife Shirley of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a multitude of friends.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Bethany, OK.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Newchurch, 9201 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City, OK with Priest Dr. Monty officiating.
