Mary L. Bentley, 70, of Edmond, Okla., passed away December 27, 2016. She was born December 28, 1945 in Mulberry, Ark. to Henry William Cecil and Challes M. Cecil.
Mary grew up on Manitou mountain, where her mother cooked three meals a day on a wood-fired stove and her father worked at the sawmill. She married and had two boys at a young age. She moved to Edmond in the summer of 1970 to provide new opportunities for herself and her two boys. She worked many years at Lyntone Belts in Edmond and LSB Industries in Oklahoma City, where her persistence in "doing it right" kept her in high regard and high demand.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters Ruby Jewel, Norma, and Velta.
She is survived by her son Robert W. Bentley and his wife Jamie of Tulsa, Okla.; her son J. Randall Bentley of Edmond; her brother Dewey Cecil; her grandchildren Emily Bentley, Christopher Bentley, and Conner Bentley; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A private family service was held December 30, 2016 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
Homelessness was a cause near to Mary's heart. If desired, donations to the homeless shelter in your city would no doubt bring her great joy.
