Maridale's Story

Maridale Bitterfield was born in Athens, Ga., on January 22, 1945 to Dale and Babe Hamilton. After a brave battle with pancreatic cancer she passed away on Good Friday, March 25th, 2016.
Maridale is survived by her husband Zane Bitterfield. Also surviving are her sister Joan Reed, sister-in-law Jan Hamilton, her daughter Katy Davis and son-in-law Matt Davis, son William Potter and daughter-in-law Melanie Potter, grandsons Dale and Edwin Potter. She is also survived by her stepson Colin Bitterfield and his children Kyle, and Izzy and stepson Scott Bitterfield.
Preceding Maridale in death were her parents and her brothers Billy Dale Hamilton and Robert E. Hamilton.
Maridale's life is one that is to be celebrated. She brought joy and love into the world every day. She influenced thousands upon thousands of people with her gregarious and outgoing nature. Maridale's last job was to wish people happy birthday and there was no one better at the job. Her infectious enthusiasm, her cheery "Today is your birthday!", and her laugh will be remembered by thousands of people.
Her legacy is thousands of friends and not a single enemy. Her life was dedicated to making the lives of others better, from her husband, children and grand-children to coworkers, business associates and thousands of complete strangers. On March 25th, 2016, the world lost the shining light of her spirit. It was her last wish that her memorial be in the town that she loved so much and in the church that she grew up in. Let light perpetual shine upon her.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a..m. Saturday June 18, at the First Christian Church of Edmond, 201 East Second St., Edmond, Oklahoma 73034.
