Linda's Story

Linda Marie Putnam, of Edmond, Okla., was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Akron, Colo, to Charles August Gebauer and Betty Lou Gebauer. She was the oldest of four children and grew up farming and ranching in Colorado. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in Nursing and was a board-certified nurse in four states.
In 1973, she married the love of her life, James Timothy Putnam, and they were stationed in the U.S. and Europe as Jim served in the Air Force for 28 years. Linda and Jim were married for 44 years. They attended New Covenant United Methodist church in Edmond.
Always serving others first, Linda was a devoted military spouse, mother, neighbor, church volunteer, nurse, and friend to all who met her. She will be remembered for her warm, loving nature and her heart for serving others.
Linda will be remembered by her husband, Jim Putnam; their son, Andy Putnam (Sarah); and grandsons, Daniel and Graham and their son Alex Putnam; her parents, Charles and Betty Gebauer; brother, Alan Gebauer (Patty); and her sister, Janean Jo
Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Gebauer.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at New Covenant United Methodist Church in Edmond, OK.
