Kelly's Story

Text size

Kelly Ann Haines, 49, of Edmond, Okla., went to the eternal beach on Saturday, March 19, 2016 after a tough fight with cancer. Kelly was born on November 10, 1966 in Somers Point, N.J., to Harold Emerson Scull, Jr., and Jean Viola Ray.
Kelly graduated from high school in Madison, Ohio in 1985, and then attended the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas. Kelly was a beautiful wife, loving mom, devoted daughter, superstar sister, and incredible friend. She was the sweetest and toughest woman we know, and throughout her battle, she never, ever gave up. Kelly was an amazing Air Force wife and made a home out of 15 different houses in 25 years. She served our Airmen and their families in countless but quiet ways and positively impacted so many lives. She was a teacher, Girl Scout leader, and class helper. She showed us how to laugh, joke, and have fun in every situation! She made every holiday special and filled our home with wonderful surprises! We will always love her and adore her and she will forever be in our hearts.
Kelly is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert Haines; her daughters Taylor, Libby, Emily, and Grace; her son Landon; her granddaughter Zoƫ; her sisters Stacey and Brandy; her brother Harold, and her mother Jean.
Kelly's family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Stephenson Cancer Center and Aspire Hospice for their compassion and care.
A celebration of Kelly's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond.
Enjoy the beach in paradise...we will see you on the other side! Go ride a drop of rain! We love you and miss you.
