Joy L. Christman was born February 10, 1921 in Kansas City, Mo. to Henry Marvin and LuCinda (Killgo) Lewis. She passed away August 22, 2017 in Edmond, Okla. at the age of 96.
Joy moved to Edmond in 1950 and she and her husband, Dick Christman owned and operated Dick Christman Appliances in four locations in Edmond, OKC, Midwest City, and South OKC from 1952-1974.
Joy was interested in geology, anthropology, and archeology. She traveled all over the world pursuing her interest in those areas. Joy was a longtime member of the Southern Hills Christian Church in Edmond.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and LuCinda Lewis and her husband, Dick Christman
Survivors include her daughter, Allina Sailer of Hilo, Hawaii; two special people who are like daughters to her, Sabra Ruminer of Edmond and Robina Harmon of Edmond; her grandson, Shawn Alyea of Tulsa, Okla., her great grandchildren including Christopher Alyea of Rayville, La.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery, OKC, OK. Rev. Chaplain James Hall will officiate.
