Jane's Story

Jane Jackson Nay, age 97, passed peacefully at home in Edmond, Okla. on Friday, August 11, 2017. She was born September 29, 1919 in Alva, Okla. to Grover Cleveland Jackson and Christine Corrington Jackson.
Jane was married to Dallas Ellsworth Nay for 64 years until his death in 2002. Together they owned Edmond Motor Freight from 1948 to 1963.
Jane is survived by three children: Jo Anne Nay of Worthington, Ohio, Betty Jane Ethridge (Jim) of Crescent, Okla., and William Dallas "Bill" Nay (Sylvia) of Tulsa, Okla.; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was an active member of First Christian Church, Edmond, since 1948. She was president of Christian Women's Fellowship and served as service chair for many years. She loved to read and late in life appreciated the Library of Congress books for visually impaired. She loved to cook and was noted for cinnamon rolls, toffee, cookies and church dinners. She loved to sew and found creative expression in making outfits for family, Christmas pj's, decorated sweat shirts and crib quilts for infants in need. She found joy in baking cookies for Breakfast on Boulevard and in sewing dresses for
U R Special.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the chapel at First Christian Church, 202 E. 2nd Street, Edmond.
Instead of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Breakfast on Boulevard (BOB) at First Christian Church as well as First Christian bus ministry and chapel maintenance.
