Jana Rae Corzine Atkins, 42, of Edmond, Okla., died April 25, 2016 in Oklahoma City, after a sudden illness. She was born August 9, 1973 in Brownfield, Texas, to Don and Carol (Pritchard) Corzine. She grew up in Denver City, Texas, and graduated from Denver City High School. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Music from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. She married David Atkins on October 18, 2003.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Edmond where she played trumpet in the orchestra. She also regularly played in the Concert in the Park during Edmond's Liberty-Fest every July 4 and in numerous charity events as a musician.
She is survived by her husband David of Edmond; her parents Don and Carol Corzine of Denver City, Texas; a sister, Judy Faught and husband Shane of Brownfield, Texas; a brother, Derek and wife Amy of Mooresville, NC; and two nieces and three nephews. She also leaves behind a beloved Schnauzer, Tex.
Donations may be made in her name to the Texas Tech Alumni Association or Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation.
