Earthly sadness mixed with heavenly joy arrived Sunday, October 18, 2015, as James Carl Peery passed away while on a short vacation with his wife of 38 years, Dagmar, and his “sondog” of a decade, Oscar. Although Jim had been under a doctor’s care, his sudden passing caught everyone by surprise. His friends and relatives who had passed before him have welcomed him to his next big adventure. Jim was born Friday, August 13, 1954, in Washington D.C., the first son of Lloyd DeVere and Dorothy Marie Etherson Peery. He was known for many gifts bestowed upon him by God and family lineage. He was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and also friend to so many. In no particular order he was a painter, singer, guitarist, entertainer, gun enthusiast, entrepreneur, writer, civil servant, western wear proponent, security officer, genealogist, historian of the Old West, lawn mower, driver for employers, dog lover, chef, pilot and nature lover. He enjoyed complaining about car problems, eating multi-day old sandwiches, and most people know his opinion on politicians! Jim was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Peery, and grandparents Reece and Goldie Schnelle Peery and Patrick and Marie Brooks Etherson. He is survived by his wife, Dagmar, of the home; daughter, Ily Peery Murdock and husband Bryan, of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; four grandsons, Isaac Murdock, Micah Murdock, Reece Murdock and Davis Murdock of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; brother, Ronald Peery, of Jetmore, Kan., many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, at Crawford Funeral Home. Services have been entrusted to Crawford Family Funeral Home, 610 NW 178th St, Edmond, at 1 p.m. Friday, November 13, followed with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery.
