James's Story

Text size

James Cleon Mashore of Edmond, Okla., was born July 27, 1940 in Oklahoma City to parents Clarence and Carleen Mashore. He passed away on September 9, 2016 after a strong fight with cancer.
James, who went by the name Jim, was a graduate of Northwest Classen High School, class of 1958. He married his high school sweet heart, Diane, in 1959. Together they spent their life raising three kids. Jim was the ultimate provider, he worked very hard to support his family through many different jobs. The majority of his career was in furniture sales, which he did with his wife. However, his favorite career was Diane's Italian Dressing. This was because it blended his two favorite things; family and work. The way he poured his heart into everything he did will never be forgotten, he left his mark on many.
Jim loved to spend his free time involved in sports, whether it was playing them, watching them on TV, or cheering his family on from the sidelines, he loved it. He ran track and played football in high school and never lost his passion for either.
Jim was the finest gentleman to ever grace this Earth, his heart for relationships was evident everywhere he went. He did things with dignity, integrity, and fierceness. Although he was a gentleman, he was also incredibly strong and stubborn. His stubbornness was a true mark of his love even into his final days. He was a prankster, and never failed to surprise with the ways he made people smile. He truly was love, and his family and friends are very blessed.
Jim followed both of his parents to Heaven. He is survived by his soul mate of 56 years, Diane; his son Todd Mashore and his children: Jeremiah, Brett, who has a son Camden, Hunter, and Grey; his daughter Kim Sanders and her daughter Kennedy; and his youngest daughter Brooke Franklin, her husband Clay and their kids Jack, Olivia "Gracie," and Charlie. Also his sister Sue Lynn Duncan, nephews Trent and Darren, and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of Jim's life will be Saturday September 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home. Reception to follow at Baggerley.
