Greta's Story

Text size

Greta Kimberling Wilson was called home to her heavenly Father May 30, 2016. She left this earth surrounded by her family. Greta was born in Oklahoma City on August 5, 1928, only child of George Hopkins and Eunice Riley Kimberling. In 1946, she graduated from Classen High School and went on to attend Oklahoma A&M. In 1952, she married Paul Allen Wilson and they were blessed with four children.
Greta's life cannot be summed up in a few column inches. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, whether it be a birthday or holiday celebration, family vacation, or attending one of the kid's activities. She was our Rock and she was deeply respected, admired, and loved by us all.
She is survived by her husband Paul Allen Wilson of Edmond; children Steve and Kathy Wilson of Lilburn, Ga; Mark and Jean Wilson of Fort Smith, Ark; Keith and Tamila Wilson and Mark and Laurie Wilson McCoy of Edmond; nine grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Mom told us whenever she died she didn't want flowers; she wanted donations made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in her memory. She said "Flowers die, but a cure for CF will help Kyleigh live". Please make remembrances to: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Sooner Chapter 3908 N. Peniel Ave, Suite 330 Bethany, OK 73008.
She was a wonderful Christian example of love, acceptance, and service. We were so lucky to have her as our wife, friend, cousin, momma, granny, and great granny!
Visitation will be 3- 6 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Crawford Funeral Service, Edmond. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, At Faith Bible Church in Edmond.
