Glenn Harold Kirkpatrick, 84, of Edmond, Okla., passed from this life on February 23, 2017. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service and a service celebrating Glenn's remarkable life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at funeral home located at 7720 S. Glenn spent his life working in residential and commercial construction. He supervised the construction of the Macklanburg-Duncan facility, the Murrah Federal Building, the Howard Johnson Hotel on Lincoln, and the McAlester Hospital for Smiser Construction.
In 1974, Glenn opened Kirkpatrick Construction doing remodel projects throughout the metro area. He did countless residential remodels in Nichols Hills and proudly played a part of the Downtown OKC renaissance by remodeling and reviving numerous older apartment buildings in several of the now trendy downtown districts. Several of his sons worked with him on many of his projects before he retired in the early 2000's.
Glenn was a talented artist who enjoyed photography and making broken tile mosaics. He also loved to spend time in his amazing backyard, swimming in the pool he designed and built and watching birds.
He is survived by four sons: Dan Kirkpatrick and wife Linda, David Kirkpatrick and wife Sherry, Joel Kirkpatrick and wife Andrea, and Kevin Kirkpatrick and wife Lovina; two brothers Dewayne and Michael Kirkpatrick; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at advantageokc.com.
