Glenda Sue Deaton of Edmond, Okla. was born August 21, 1939 to CB Hill and Edna Lundborg and passed away on October 17, 2017. She grew up in Apache, Okla. and graduated from Broxton High School in 1957. On May 2, 1960, she married George N. Deaton. They went on to live in Edmond, where they raised their children and attended First Church of the Nazarene.
Glenda had many hobbies such as collecting dolls and ceramic eggs, needlepoint, crocheting, and reading. She loved her pet cats, but dogs were her favorite. Glenda started working early before high school as a babysitter for neighborhood kids, and later went to work for D & D Floral. She also worked for the Edmond Sun and UCO bookstore. After her husband passed, she went to work as a foster parent and then went to help care for an ailing cousin.
Glenda is preceded in death by her father, CB Hill, mother Edna Lundborg, son Jeff Deaton, and her cousin Sharon Lundborg.
Glenda is survived by her son Gary Wayne Deaton of Zepher Hill, Fla., daughter Darla Dabbs and husband Ralph E. Dabbs of Perkins, Okla., daughter Kristie Cox and husband Gary Cox of Duncan, Okla. and daughter Angela Fletcher of Edmond, and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several extended family members.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Edmond First Church of the Nazarene.
