Doris Irene Durham, age 99-1/2, of Butler, Mo., passed away September 8, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Edmond, Okla. She was born February 11, 1917 to Roy and Carrie Jones in Spruce, Mo. She married Durward (Derby) R. Durham on February 15, 1938 and moved to Kansas City, Mo., after Derby retired from the service in 1946. They adopted Angela Kathryn from an orphanage in Nürnburg, Germany in July of 1960.
Doris lived in Kansas City until August of 2002 when she moved Tealridge Retirement Community. In December 2014 she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Angela Klutts and husband, Larry of Edmond; three grandchildren, Katie and her husband, Jeff of Edmond, Robert and his wife, Natasha of Edgerton, Kan., Philip and his wife, Tara of Edmond, and four precious great-grandchildren: Levi, Nate, Deacon and Samantha. She leaves a sister-in-law, Lois Jones of Butler, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, LeRoy and five sisters, Thelma Smith, Rena Moorie, Edith Mae Koontz, Hazel Jones, and Betty Hill as well as one nephew, Richard Bledsoe.
Services will be held at a later date in Missouri.
