David Lee Richard

David Lee Richard had a generous heart, an extraordinary mind, and a disarming laugh. He was born Sept. 10, 1959, in Edmond, Okla., and passed from this life on June 28, 2019. Although he worked in the metro area, he proudly lived his entire life in Edmond.
David attended Edmond Memorial High School and the University of Central Oklahoma. His professional life in the information technology profession took him to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Fleming Foods, the University of Oklahoma, and Hobby Lobby.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert Sr. and Theaopal (Cantrell) Richard, and is survived by his wife, Diana (Roth) Richard and stepson, Bryan Roth; brother Bert Richard Jr. and wife, Jenny; sisters, Eva Cox and husband, Charles, and Cindy Richard; nephews, Harley Cox and wife, Heather, and Beau, Jake, Alex, and Hunter Richard; niece, Katharine Richard; and two beloved grandnephews.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at Matthews Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the City Rescue Mission (cityrescue.org), the Oklahoma Messages Project (okmessagesproject.org), or the First Presbyerian Church of Edmond (fpcedmond.org), where he was a member.
