Daniel "Dan"'s Story
Daniel "Dan" Lee Calvert of Austin, Texas, was born July 18, 1984 to Dona and Jerry Calvert. Dan was born and raised in Edmond, graduating from Edmond Santa Fe High School in 2002. He received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Oklahoma Christian University in 2008. In January 2009, Dan accepted a position with CSC at Vance Air Force base in Enid, Okla., specializing in HVAC system design. In 2011, Dan moved to Tulsa, Okla and accepted a position at MDW Engineering. Dan obtained his Professional Engineer(PE) certification and accepted a position in April 2014 with EEA Consulting Engineers in Austin, Texas. Dan thoroughly enjoyed his career, friends, and the excitement of Austin.
Daniel loved his family and friends and the family pet, Chewie. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play games or go out and enjoy some good Mexican food. His friends in Oklahoma called him "Ice Man Dan" and he was famous for his witty personality and booming laughter. Dan made hysterical video tutorials such as "How to eat Chicken McNuggets while riding a motorcycle with your helmet on." He was adventurous and enjoyed playing Frisbee golf, riding his motorcycle, skydiving and traveling. Dan enjoyed playing his guitar and taught himself how to play "Dust in the Wind" among other songs. He loved to get together with his cousins, especially when it involved fireworks and shenanigans. His cousins, siblings, and his Grandma Lila all had a special place in his heart.
Dan loved the city of Austin and especially enjoyed attending the large music festivals. He would raise his OKC Thunder flag at outdoor concerts so his friends could find him. Dan was an avid OKC Thunder basketball fan and attended many of their games. Dan was also a big fan of Oklahoma Univer-sity (OU) football and enjoyed watching games.
The Calvert family would like to thank family and friends that were so important in Dan's life. We especially want to thank his friends and associates at EEA Consulting Engineers of Austin. Your kind words and help has meant so much to our family.
