Damon Donald Johnson was born October 17, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Damon Bedford and Mary Elsie Johnson. He passed away peacefully in his sleep May 23, 2017 in Edmond, Okla. Damon had lived his entire life in the Oklahoma City and Edmond area, graduating from John Marshall High School. Damon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Central State College, May 28, 1964. He went on to receive a Master's Degree in Education from Central State University, July 20, 1972. In 1975 he quit teaching and together with his wife began building a successful weed control and lawn care business that has been located at 33rd and Bryant in Edmond for the past 42 years. His son, Matthew, has continued the family business in Damon's name.
Damon might best be described as a simple, hardworking, family man. He loved being outside. He enjoyed his time in the deer stand, trips to Africa for safaris, weekends at the lake, and perhaps most of all, being at the pool with his grandkids.

A come-and-go visitation and reception will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
A service honoring his life will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond with a service of Christian burial following at Gracelawn Cemetery.
