Bobby Joe Martin was born Feb. 7, 1992 in Adak, Alaska to Floyd Ray Martin and Joann (Thompson) Martin and passed from this life April 28, 2018 at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. at the age of 26.
Bobby was raised with his family in Cuba, West Virginia, Georgia, and Oklahoma. He attended Guthrie High School. Although Bobby suffered from a lifelong disability he was still very physically active. One of his favorite activities was to go to "I Fly" where he was able to soar in mid-air without jumping out of a plane! He also enjoyed Taekwondo and bowling and pretty much beat everyone at putt putt golf and rummy. Ever since Bobby was a small child he had been able to name the make and model of just about any car he saw. He was an avid reader and loved the Harry Potter series and he enjoyed Sudoku puzzles.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Virginia Justus.
Survivors include his father Floyd Martin of Guthrie; mother Joann Gedding and husband Mike of Astor, Fla.; brothers, Chris Martin and wife Heather of Luther, Okla., Steve Martin and wife Dawn of Ft. Valley, Ga., Timothy Martin of Gray, Ga., Michael Martin and wife Peggy of Muskogee, Okla., William Martin of Eufaula, Okla., and Michael Gedding of North Augusta, Ga.; sisters Belva Humphrey and Jannice Martin both of Eufaula, Okla.; 15 nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and nephews; two very special aunts who he loved dearly, Virginia Smith of Guthrie, Okla. and Betty Cousins of Dustin, Okla.; along with several other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Assembly of God Church in Dustin, OK with Rev. Don Williamson officiating. Pallbearers will be Dustin Bray, Kyle Bray, Harlo Martin, Shelby Cremeens, Adam Ammann, and Andy Ammann. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the Hanna Cemetery with Rev. Don Williamson officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
