Betty Sue Antwine, 82, died Friday, June 23, 2017 in McKinney, Texas. She was born November 29, 1934 to Royce and Mary Mires in Adams, Okla.
The second of four daughters, Sue grew up on a farm, and graduated from Adams High School in 1952. She met her husband Drue Billy Antwine (Bill) at Central Christian College in Bartlesville, Okla. later that year in a business class. They were married June 14, 1955 and celebrated 62 wonderful years together.
Sue graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and taught kindergarten and first grade for more than 25 years. A woman of many talents, she was well-known for being an award-winning seamstress and baking her delicious homemade rolls.
Sue and Bill were active members in the church of Christ, and spent 14 years in New Jersey, building a congregation in Bridgewater. After moving back to Adams, Okla., Sue and Bill spent many summers working at Black Mesa Bible Camp as teachers and Bible quiz coordinators. Following retirement in 1995, they moved to Edmond, Okla. and enjoyed nearly 20 years of traveling, including a one-week vacation each year with their entire family since 1997.
Due to health concerns, Sue and Bill made the decision to move closer to family in 2014, and relocated to McKinney.
