Bert Prost, 96, was born in Chicago, Ill., to parents Mathias Sylvester Prost and Teresa Gerold Prost.

He was a consummate family man who loved his wife of 57 years, Margaret, and his four children deeply. He was married to Margaret until her death in 2012.
