The service celebrating the life of Mrs. Alma Louise Hunter, 91, of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Alma was born October 11, 1924 in Tontitown, Ark., to Albino and Catherine Maestri Roso and passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at her home in Edmond.
She attended St. Ann's Academy and St. Edwards Hospital, Ft. Smith, Ark., obtaining her RN. In 1958, Alma married Howard Ross Hunter on April 1, at St. James's Catholic Church, Oklahoma City. They were married 55 years and their love was an example for many. Alma worked in several places before taking employment at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, retiring after 15 years. Howard and Alma traveled the world during their retirement years. Alma was an active member of the St. Gregory Catholic Church.
Alma is survived by her children, Sherry Hutchison and husband James of Edmond; Allen Hunter and wife Andrea of Fairway, Kan.; Patti Baldridge and husband Mike of Sand Springs, Okla.; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Allison Hutchison, Paige Hutchison, Caroline Hunter, Mandy and Ronny Hilligoss, and Jill Baldridge, and one great-grandchild, Hunter Ridge Hilligoss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Alma's honor to: Our Daily Bread of Enid with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
